Policies and FAQs

How do I schedule my first appointment? What should I expect?
When you call CSS, you’ll be greeted by Melissa or Pamela, our friendly front office team. They’ll guide you through the initial steps, asking a few basic questions such as your reason for seeking therapy, general availability, and payment details. Their goal is to help you feel at ease, answer your questions, and make sure you’re matched with the therapist best suited to your needs, based on age, concerns, and the unique specialties of our team.
Your first session, called a diagnostic intake, is a chance to get to know each other. Your therapist will learn more about your or your child’s history, current concerns, and goals—laying the groundwork for a personalized plan that fits your needs. If you’re seeking support for your child, this initial appointment will be just with you (and, if applicable, your spouse, partner, or other caregivers), without your child present.
Your therapist will spend this time learning about your or your child’s history, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. This session helps build a connection and lays the foundation for a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
We know taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but at CSS, we’re here to make it easier and support you every step of the way.
