Parenting Therapy

Let’s face it—parenting is the wildest ride with no seatbelt and zero bathroom breaks.

One minute you’re a snack machine, the next you’re negotiating with a toddler like it’s a hostage situation. Parenting therapy gives you a space to breathe, vent, laugh (or cry—we don’t judge), and get real tools to handle the chaos. Because even superheroes need a little support… and maybe five minutes of quiet

Parenting Therapy: For When Counting to Ten Stopped Working

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual—but we’ve got your back. Whether you’re navigating toddler tantrums, teen eye-rolls, or just trying to keep the peace at the dinner table, therapy can help you reconnect, reset, and parent with more confidence (and a little less chaos).

We provide a nurturing haven for families and parents seeking support and guidance through our specialized services. At The Center for Social Success, we recognize that parenting comes with its own unique set of challenges. That’s why our dedicated team of therapists is here to assist you every step of the way.

In-Office and/or Home Visits

In our tailored sessions, parents and families have the opportunity to address family dynamics, create effective parenting strategies, and evaluate communication skills within the household. We understand the intricacies of raising a family, and our ultimate goal is to empower both individual members as well as the entire family unit. We also offer home visits to aid in the implementation of effective parenting strategies, as well as managing home behavior.

PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy)

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy is an evidence-based program used with children with behavioral problems for parents and children together. PCIT involves “coaching” sessions where you and your child engage in play in a playroom. The therapist observes your interactions and offers real-time coaching on the skills you are acquiring to manage your child’s behavior.

The PCIT process consists of two phases. The initial phase focuses on the parent and child relationship. This phase of PCIT focuses on enhancing your relationship with your child by teaching you basic play therapy techniques in order to effectively and positively interact with your child. These skills aim to create a sense of calmness in your child, foster a secure parent-child relationship, and enhance self-esteem. Some goals of this phase include increasing your child’s attention span, fostering positive attachments and interactions with you, and increasing pro-social behaviors.

The next phase of the therapy aims to empower you to handle your child’s most difficult behaviors with confidence, composure, and consistency. During this phase, you’ll gain insights into effective strategies for guiding your child to accept limits, follow instructions and house rules, and exhibit appropriate behavior in public. Some goals of this phase include increasing minding and compliance, and effective limit setting.
